WoW! $3 beer... simply unheard of. Today‘s ride will be starting (at 4:30 PM), and ending from District Brewing, 510 Main St. Mount Vernon. There‘s plenty of parking in the public parking lot just to the north of the brewery along the river, and spots just to the south along the river as well. The ride will follow the North Fork of the Skagit River both at the beginning, and towards the end of this 21.8 mile "socially paced" (12-14 mph) ride. If needed we can make a pit stop at Roozengaarde to take in the dahlias and porta potties. The route will then circle through the lovely Dodge Valley for a rest and outhouse break at the Rex Bar and Grill. We‘ll return, once again, following along the river. Finally it‘s time to celebrate having "cheated death once again" with a $3 beer. Being a safety freak I can‘t help myself by posting the following paragraph. Thanks for taking the time to read it. The vehicular traffic on most of the roads we‘ll be on today is fairly light. Crossing the bridge leaving and returning to downtown is a bit precarious, so let‘s try to stay in a group if we can. The sections along McClean can be a bit busy as well. Try to be mindful about inpatient vehicles wanting to pass in places they have no business passing. So again, let‘s try to keep in a group--two if needed--and ride single file when necessary. It helps to call out to each other when there is a "car back." If someone is willing to be, or share, being a sweep that would be great. Safety aside, let‘s have fun! https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47553505
