SBC TUESDAY 11:00 A.M. SOCIAL RIDE DEPARTING FROM Shawn O’Donnell’s, 13724 LaConner Whitney Road, corner of hwy 20 and LaConner Whitney Roads. Tuesday morning Social Rides will be about 25-30-ish miles. We’ll be riding a different route each week. Although no map is required, it’s encouraged to preview the route in Ride With GPS (RWGPS). Routes will be communicated in a RIDER QUICK ALERT email a few days before the ride, for downloading to your device/smartphone. Many of us are becoming accustomed to the benefits of having turn by turn navigation on our phones or bike computers. As members of Skagit Bicycle Club each of us have access to RWGPS without charge. If you prefer paper, you are able to print the MAP .pdf prior to arriving at the start. It’s fun to see where we’re going. Newer riders and all bikes are welcome. E-Bike riders can expect to ride at a pedal bike social pace of 12-15 mph. Rider bike skills and experience sufficient for safe riding on the road are requested. Potential new Club members are welcome. Optional social gathering afterward for snack or lunch. Riders PRE-REGISTER online in this Ride Listing. JOHN YAEGER - 360.708.6862 yaeger.jz@gmail.com

Hey, as of this writing, there is no ride leader for today’s ride. Take heart, all is not lost. If you are a Tuesday regular, I encourage you to sign up and ride with your buds anywhere you want. Check out the club library for suggestions: https://ridewithgps.com/clubs/953-skagit-bicycle-club/routes? Lots of good rides there. Modify, abbreviate or extend an existing ride to suit the group of the day. What the hay, pioneer a new route :) The exercise, the freedom, the wind in our faces. It’s all still there, just waiting for you. If you are new to the Tuesday Social Rides, please sign up and come out to get a feel for the camaraderie of your fellow riders. Newer riders and all bikes are welcome. Rider bike skills and experience sufficient for safe riding on the road are requested. Riders can expect to ride at a pedal bike social pace of 10-15 mph, sometimes slower, sometimes faster. Wind and hills matter. Re-grouping is the norm. It’s preferred to have a couple of pods of riders far enough apart that vehicular traffic can pass each pod safely and pull back into the lane. Passing smaller pods one at a time is safer than forcing vehicle drivers to attempt passing a single long line of riders. Safety first, follow the rules of the road and ride defensively. When stopped, remember to gather off the road, well clear of traffic. We all share the road. Post ride there is a great lunch special in O’Donnell’s. Oh, beer too. I’ll be back for the Tuesday ride on March 26. Wishing you a great ride, John 360.708.6862 yaeger.jz@gmail.com
