About this event

Welcome Rides

This second Saturday of the month (7/11) Welcome Ride will be a ride on Guemes Island. Refer to the “Seafarer's, Guemes, ccw 21.4 mi, 1367 ft ” ride in the club’s RWGPS library.
We’ll meet at Seafarer’s Memorial Park in Anacortes at 10:00 AM and catch the 10:45 ferry. The cost for the ferry for a rider and bicycle is $10.75 for adults, and $7.25 for seniors. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CASH! Please bring a credit card, debit card, or a contactless payment method.
Welcome Rides will emphasize safety and group dynamics with frequent regrouping, a dedicated sweep, and will be maintaining the average pace stated in the write-up to ensure that everyone is safe and that no one gets dropped. Beginners are welcome and encouraged. The leader will also be giving a pre-ride briefing so please do not be late as anyone who misses the briefing will not be able to attend the ride.
After the ride there will be an option to have lunch either at the Guemes Island General Store, or a restaurant in Anacortes.
If the rides are well attended there is talk about adding a second ride each month.
