- UPDATE- SUNDAY (June 21) SOCIAL RIDE: ORCAS ISLAND - DEER HARBOR - 17 MILES- 1500 FT
Hello Social Tour Riders- Here is an update on this ride from our recent scouting:
-Scenic ride along the West Bay on a rural, less-traveled island road to “not touristy”. Deer Harbor. This is a nice social tour ride in a scenic region of Orcas Island
-Route: 60% of the elevation is in the first and last 1.5 miles of the route, and the "up" has a great "downhill" to compensate! …the rest is mildly undulating along West Sound & Massacre Bay on a well-paved road (no real shoulder), with little traffic that travels at moderate speeds on a good visibility road.
-Scenic places to stop and look with a good lunch spot @ Deer Harbor.
This is not a rush-paced ride. Rather, an “enjoy the day” tour ride. Ferry Departs at 10:30 AM (be there 30 min before... park at Ferry Terminal for $16 for the day, or ride there). We will take the 5:25 pm Ferry home that arrives at 6:35 pm.
